What Food Do I Feed My Male Cat to Avoid Kidney Stones?
My veterinarian told me that male cats developed stones in their urinary tract and kidneys. He told me that I should feed the Diet Science of my male cat and not the Purina I had given him. My cat hates the Science Diet and refuses to eat it. So I have mixed it with some Purina, in the hope that I can finally feed him only with SD. Do you think that I should feed her SD to avoid the kidneys? Thank you very much.Daily Meow | Some young male cats suffer from syndrome where the bladder and urethra become chronically inflamed (irritation). Cats with mild cases suffer from pain and discomfort, and may urinate with increasing frequency. They may also urinate outside the bin. Cats with severe cases can develop life-threatening conditions in which they can not urinate at all.

In my practice, cats fed Diet Science and cats fed Purina both have low FUS levels, so if your cat prefers Purina, this probably will not be a problem. However, cats that tend to be FUSs can develop problems no matter what they eat. If you're worried, you can ask your veterinarian to run a test on your cat's urine to see if he's likely to face this problem.
